VMware Integrated OpenStack Architecture

VMware Integrated OpenStack delivers a working OpenStack cloud with a tightly integrated framework. It allows the vendor to test and validate the architecture and components for interoperability and integration, resulting in a more robust cloud, with unified management tools and single support contact.

The components in the Integrated OpenStack architecture are:

VMware Integrated OpenStack management server (VIO OMS) is the management server used to manage and deploy the OpenStack instance.

VMware Integrated OpenStack template is the base template for creating all the OpenStack Service virtual machines.

Load balancers provide HA services.

Databases stores the OpenStack metadata.

The controller contains all the services, including compute (Nova), block storage (Cinder), image service (Glance), identity service (Horizon), and object storage (Swift).

RabbitMQ is the message queue service used for all the running OpenStack services.

Compute drivers contains the compute processes (Nova-Compute) to deploy instances to the Compute cluster.
