Syslog Logging
The Syslog service provides support for system logging, network logging, and collecting logs from hosts. You can use the Syslog service to redirect and store ESXi messages to a server on the network. This is useful where there is no local storage, or if an environment has a policy that requires logs to be retained from ESXi hosts.
In vSphere 6.0, Syslog services are installed with vCenter Server and only need to be configured to be used.
