VMware Infrastructure Update Procedures

VMware infrastructure has been designed to be as flexible and maintainable as possible. This section will cover update functionality and its impact on the workloads that are already running when you want to perform an upgrade. It is important to understand that the infrastructure requires little to no downtime to implement patches and updates.

This section only describes update procedures, not upgrade procedures. An upgrade usually changes large parts of the infrastructure to a new major version.
